Activists say 5 year old boy shot

The 5 year old boy activists say was shot at tonight

<<<UPDATE>>> The Ministry of Interior have released a statement admitting the incident and describing the boy and his Father as “innocent bystanders”. They claim it happened as Police came under attack by molotov cocktails.

It has been widely reported this evening by opposition groups and individual activists that a 5 year old boy has been the victim of gun shots from security forces.

Opposition party Al Wefaq named the boy as Ahmed Al Naham and say he and his Father were shot at by security forces whilst his Father sold fish on the side of a road.

On Twitter activists have said the boy is now in intensive care with leading figure of Bahrain Centre for Human Rights, Said Yousif AlMuhafdah, saying the boy is an “unstable” condition.

It comes just 24 hours after Bahrain released the 11 year old Ali Hasan from prison, where he had been held for one month.

From the hospital Zeinab Al Khawaja tweeted:

The father with his blood covering his sandals & hospital floor, looks so frightened for his son, who lies unconscious #bahrain

She added:
