Protests in Solidarity with Medics, Detained Figures and AlWefaq GS
The regime forces in Bahrain violently suppressed 16 areas around Bahrain yesterday on Tuesday arresting citizens and injuring others. All the popular protests that took to the streets were faced with excessive use of tear gas and birdshots- an international prohibited weapon. The regime forces tend to weaponize tear gas vindictively by targeting protesters’ bodies with canisters and birdshot at close range. Such violence had led to a number of death cases even between children. The regime is punishing citizens solely for exercising their right to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly.
The most distinctive areas that witnessed protests were: Al-Dair, Abu-Guwa, Salmabad, A’ali, Buri, Duraz, Bani Jamrah, Sitra, Ekr, Ma’ameer, Nuwaidrat, Nabeh Salih, Shahrakan, Al-Malkya and Sanabis.
The popular protest were held in solidarity with the detained medics for treating injured protesters. Protest raised slogans that warn the regime of hurting the opposition figures and condemn the summoning of Al-Wefaq SG, Shaikh Ali Salman for interrogation. The protesters warned that the obscured threats to prominent religious figure, Ayatollah Shaikh Isa Qassim will lead the country to the unknown.
Check points were set in a number of areas, three of which besieged A’ali village, causing terrible traffic disturbance that continued for hours. Many citizens were reported to have been arrested from those check points, this indicates the martial tactics that the regime is undertaking to confront the increasing popular pro-democracy demands.
Fathers of martyrs marched with people who took to streets in Duraz village, in solidarity with the medics, human rights activists and political figures. The protesters warned the regime of targeting the political figures. The protest was brutally suppressed.
Another protest was held in Ekr again in solidarity with medics and detained figures.
Shahrakan was among the areas which were brutally suppressed for a protest which took to the streets stressing on the national popular demands of making the people the source of all powers. The regime forces flooded the area with lethal toxic tear gas and excessively fired birdshots against peaceful protester.
Mohammed Al-Maskati- human right activist- was summoned for interrogation in one accusing him of participating in a protest in the capital Manama. He was transferred to the prosecution and released later. Within the regime practices to restrict freedoms and ban citizens from freely expressing their opinion.
The authorities have sent many summons to many citizens from Mehazza, Markoban, Al-Kharjia in Sitra.
In Ma’ameer the regime forces raided a building and many houses looking for national flags of Bahrain which are usually raised during the protests, such practices reveal the corrupted mentality of the regime forces which are instead supposed to protect citizens and their national attitudes rather than attacking them for raising national slogans.
